| English Department Summer Reading |
9/7/2008 |
Since the summer is a good time to relax and read, we are asking you, the students, to do just that - read books that look potentially inviting and exciting within the next three months. As can be seen by perusing the list below, we have provided a wide variety of selections that should appeal to many tastes. Please choose at least one of the selections below. Upon returning to school in the fall, you will be asked to write on the book(s) you have read. We are not interested in your reading of secondary sources on the books; we are only interested in your ideas and reactions regarding the books you have chosen. While reading, it is always important to think about the particular characters and their conflicts, the unique message of the book, its setting, the meaning of its title, and the relevance the book may have to the reader.
You can access your summer reading assignments on the English Department downloads page.
Have a good summer. |
