| David Levine has over 37 years of experience as an educator, professional development facilitator and mentor. He has positively impacted thousands of high school students as well as the teachers who instruct them. Last year Mr. Levine created and taught a new course for seniors entitled Media Literacy, which he will again teach this year. Mr. Levine is also the Faculty Advisor for the yearbook. Previously he created and developed other various new course offerings e.g.: Quality of Life Research Project, Broadcast News, Life after High School, Creative Communications, Current Issues of the Day, and Medical Issues and Ethics. He developed plans for infusing Values Education across the curriculum, and he served as a curriculum writer for the Discovery Institute at the College of Staten Island, CUNY. Mr. Levine has been a mentor for new teachers as part of the Jewish New Teacher Project sponsored by the Avi Chai Foundation. As a classroom teacher he taught varied courses on the high school and university levels including: English, Advanced Placement Literature, American Literature Honors, Expository Writing, and Speech Arts. Since retiring from the NYC Department of Education, he has taught at Metropolitan Schechter HS, New Brunswick Health Science Technology HS, Middlesex County Community College, and Rutgers University. |
