Dr. Katz serves as Director of College Guidance, overseeing the college admission process at TABC beginning in ninth grade. As a result of his dedication, our students have been successfully admitted to top ranked colleges and have received a wide range of honors and college scholarships. To keep current in the field of College Guidance he goes on college visits every summer and attends a financial aid workshop run by the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority as well a workshop through either College Board or ACT to keep up on their testing programs. Dr. Katz also teaches AP United States History, Honors American History and AP US Government and Politics. He has been approved by College Board through their AP Audit program to teach these subjects and has been asked to participate in the AP United States History essay grading process. In addition, he is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the National Association of College Admission Counselors, the New Jersey Association of College Admission Counselors and a member of CAJUE (an association of College Counselors in Jewish High Schools). He holds an M.Ed and an Ed.D. from Teachers College of Columbia University and an MA degree in Jewish History from Yeshiva University’s Bernard Revel Graduate School. Dr. Katz is a long time member of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society of Education, as well as the Association of Teachers in Independent Schools.
