Rabbi Howard Jachter

Rabbi Jachter has been teaching Halacha and Tanach at TABC since 1995 and serves as TABC's Director of Alumni Relations. A trusted halachic resource for students, alumni, and communities around the world, he regularly responds to questions in Halacha and Hashkafah and is known for making complex topics clear, practical, and engaging. At TABC, Rabbi Jachter leads the Summer Halacha Kollel, introduced the post-Shacharit Mishnah Berurah Chaburah, serves as faculty advisor to Kol Torah—TABC's weekly Torah publication read by thousands worldwide—and contributes a popular weekly column to the Jewish Link. He has authored 25 books, including the five-volume Gray Matter series, many of them developed with the assistance of TABC alumni. Rabbi Jachter received Yoreh Yoreh and Yadin Yadin semicha from Yeshiva University and maintains a close relationship with Rav Hershel Schachter and Rav Mordechai Willig. In addition to teaching at TABC, he serves as Rabbi of Congregation Shaarei Orah in Teaneck, a Dayan on the Beth Din of Elizabeth, advises more than 70 communities on eruv construction, and has served as scholar-in-residence in more than 250 communities worldwide.
